Default Concert Photography / Video?

Been playing with my Panasonic FZ-100 for a few weeks now and am about to test it out on what I mainly bought it for - photographing and shooting video at a rock concert with a huge light show! As I'm mainly just a hobbyist (not even close to a pro) I'm looking for any tips or pointers in shooting in a situation like this. Video is top priority with photos being secondary.

I had figured on at the very least - turn off the AF assist beam and using the digital viewfinder. I also know that zooming in and out should be kept to a minimum.

Any other pointers from people who have done this before - especially as they may relate to my particular camera would be much appreciated.

PS: I've got a 32G Class 6 (Transcend) SDHC card, and I'm figuring on about 2 hours of video (although in my test it made it about 2.5 hours) with the one battery that came with the camera fully charged. I plan to shoot in 720p.

Since you are not likely to be able to bring in a tripod or monopod, spend a bit of time figuring out how to hold your camera steady. Looking for a pole to lean against would help. Sitting is better than standing, ...

Thanks... I'm pretty pleased with how things turned out!

I still have some learning on the photos part:

I shot most of the photos in IA (auto) mode.

Thanks - I was quite pleased with the video! I was using the camera's internal mic for this show. I also just taped Halford & Ozzy this past Monday and the audio didn't come out quite as well - probably because it was a tad bit louder at that show. I may have to try hooking my other mics I have in to the camera and see how that goes.
