Default How to geotag photos

Hi everybody,

I was wondering if you know what's the best solution to geotag photos. I actually have iPhoto on my Mac but when I transfer my photos taken with my camera, they are not geotagged. I know that a GPS receiver can do the job but it's kind of expensive like this one : http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consum...receiver_gp_e1

I've heard that some mobile apps can do the job. Anyone here who tried one of them?

Thank you,
Jonass

Why do you not use a gps tracker for $40-$80? battery lasts for 24 hours up to 48 hours or longer,
built in memory for 100.000 up to 400.000 way points - with microSDHC up to millions of way points.
You can wear it in your photo bag or pockets. Start it in the morning, shut off at evening. It writes way
points (programmable) each second. The whole route - hehe, even with ship.

Usable for EACH camera ! From HelloKittyCam to Leica M9.

With ONE mouseclick you can transfer ALL gps coordinates to EXIF of your photos.

GPS data - written bei IrfanView from EXIF into photo

Some smartphones can keep track of your travels. You can match the time on the photos (presuming your camera has the right time) with the LatLon on your smartphone, and geotag your photos manually.

If you've already got a cow, use the manure for fertilizer.

If you've already got a smartphone, use its GPS to geotag your photos.
