I have the Kodak P 850 and I will be using it this weekend to take shots at my daughters cheerleading competition. I have used the action mode at another one and was really not impressed with the outcome. Some of the pictures were darker when I zoomed in and other were grainy looking. I plan to use the shutter priority mode this weekend. I have the settings set at 1/1000 and ISO 400. I will not be able to use the flash much. The lighting is always very good anyways. Will these settings work or does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for reading and for any tips you can offer.

With an ISO setting of 400, your pictures may come out grainy looking. If there is plenty of light, there is no need for such a high ISO.

Maybe back off the shutter speed to 1/500th.
