I have a Toshiba PDR-3310 ....the other day it just quit on me with the telephoto lense stuck open. I put it on the recharger and can get it to charge up a little but when I press the power button the lense will close up and then reopen and the battery dies. (red light comes back on) The problem is this...I phoned all over and only found one place in Canada that sells replacement battery for it...and it is $85 plus shipping and tax ...and when I told him what the camera is doing he said..another $240 to fix the lense....consider just buying a new one. Could it be just that it needs a new battery or is the camera not worth fixing. I just read Toshiba has gone out of digicameras...This was my first digital camera..and I liked it okey..took loads of pictures with it. Any help??

The camera is not worth fixing. Glance over this board and you'll see that most posts concern problems that people had with their Toshiba cameras. They were junk. That's why Toshiba was forced to exit the digicam business.

Thanx I have chucked it....went this weekend and bought a Canon Powershot G6...hopefully it will be a better camera for me. The Toshiba was a good little starter digital for me.

One of my first digicams was a Canon A20. For a simple little point and shoot, it was a marvelous camera. I've heard very good things about the G6. Good luck.
