hi guys,

im about to do the upgrade of the firmware on the camera cause i want the manual focus option...i have a few questions tho, before i do it...

1. what other options come with upgrading the firmware besides the manual focus?

2. when i do the update, will it be on the camera itself, or will the update stay on the memory card? and if so would i have to update the firmware everytime i get a new memory card?

3. how safe is this update? im really worried about doing it cause i dont have an ac adapter and dont plan on buying one, so i'll be doing it right after a full charge of the batteries...will this be ok?

4. somewhat related to 3, can i in any way damage the camera beyond repair by doing this upgrade?

thanks in advance for any light that can be shed on these questions...

1. Large icons in auto mode and high speed scrolling in playback.

2. On the camera. You format the card when through.

3. Takes only a minute, batteries will be fine.

4. Don't think so, but YMMV.

It's really no big deal to do, and the manual focus is definitely worth the little bit of trouble. Be sure to download the pdf. manual for the upgrade, also.
