Default Toshiba Repair (scare) Stories

Has any one got any experience with the Toshiba repairs department?. My PDR M70 has developed a fault (menu button)which requires me to send it off for some attention (the guarantee period has expired) .
Toshiba have supplied me with an address:
Toshiba Information Systems Ltd
European Service Centre Unit 627
Admiralty Way
Camberley
Surrey
GU15 3DT
UK
and advised me that they will assess the fault and post me a quote, if I do not accept the quote I will have to pay an admin fee of 25 pounds to get my camera returned.
I was wondering if anyone has had good or bad experience with this service, whether they charge an over inflated repair fee etc.

That is the general politic of TOSHIBA. I beleive that if this is a main board problem, then the service will be very expensive. What your exact problem???

My first reply
The menu button on the back of the camera that enables scrolling through pictures/menus etc decided to part company with whatever it was connected to. it works intermittently (if you wiggle it about!).
I took the front casing off to scale how easy it was to get to and very promptly put it back on (after seeing the complicated layout inside), before I could even get to the root of the problem i.e.: the button.
So it would seem sending it off for repair is my last resort
