Nina & Pinta Replicas

4 Attachment(s)
The Nina and Pinta replicas built by the Columbus foundation were in this area over the past week (Oneida Landing, Davenport, IA). While marine craft are not normally my interest I thought this might be of interest to both history buffs and tall ship buffs.

Photos:
1. Nina dockside.
2. Pinta dockside
3. Nina departing upriver
4. Nina turning starboard for a downriver destination.
5. Both turning downriver.

1. Oops! They forgot one of their ramps so the Nina is returning for it.
2. Both several miles downriver passing through a swinging railway bridge after sunset.

Nice pics. You need guts to cruise the Atlantic in one of those!

Thanks. I've looked very closely at the freeboard on the Nina and I agree with you entirely. None the less the Nina's maiden voyage was a 5000 mi. open ocean trip to take part in a movie.
