Old Brush Truck

1 Attachment(s)
From the 2010 Lousia County VA Fireman's Parade. This fire truck from Bumpass caught my eye which is rare as I usually photograpoh so many fires and trucks that everything starts to look normal to me. This really stood out as cool vehicle when I saw it. I believe the make is some kind of John Bean brush truck. Note the covered hose reels which were a big feature of John Beam firetrucks in 60s and 70s

Had to heavily downgrade qaulity and size in order to get this to post. Original file was over 5MB shot with Fuji HS10 set on P mode +1/3 or +2/3 exposure comp. Hope some one enjoys it.

Interesting and odd (about the covered hose reel, I mean,) but for a Brush Truck, I guess that makes sense. Thanks for posting it.

Very nice...looks like it based on the old International Loadstar truck.

I'd like to see a close-up including the heavy treaded front tires.

Did anyone notice the name on the door? Or am I being juvenile?

I was curious about the historical origins of both the name and the town, so I googled the name and the attached link is what I found. Interesting article about an interesting name.

Apparently George Washington...slept there.:)

George Washington slept a lot of places. There are three homes in Manhattan that can prove George Washington "slept" there. George Washington only spent one night in Manhattan.
