Captured this United Express CRJ-50 as it just landed on Rwy 18L at the Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport. This aircraft looks like it arrived with nearly no passengers on-board.
Check out the full 12,000 feet of Rwy 27 which runs perpendicular to Rwy 18. ![]() |

This is one of your best shots. Not just the plane but the whole context. I can even read the numbers to the last.

Thanks Shoturtle, Ordo and Dustin: The Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 is a lens with amazing sharpness throughout the entire zoom range...I owe the technical merits of this image entirely to this lens! With the weather warming up in these parts, I'll be hanging out at the airport a little more

Jehan,
Great picture, Jehan, not only of a plane but also a capture of an airfield "an ordinary day at the office". You don't really need magical light to capture the essence of things Torgny

Dave: Thanks...as I said, that 70-200 f/2.8 is a nice lens to use!
Torgny: Thanks for your comments too. It sure would have been nicer composition if there was another aircraft on the other runway. Unfortunately, since the merger between Delta and Northwest, air traffic in Cincinnati has been reduced drastically in the last 12 months. 4 full length runways, but not much air traffic ![]() Jehan |
