'60s Austin Truck
The first vehicles to be assembled in Colombia were British Austin trucks from 2 and a half to six ton, some two wheel drive Austin jeeps and some microbuses. The assembly plant was inaugurated in 1962 in Bogotá with Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh in attendance. The trucks weren't really up to Colombia's mountain roads and production ended after a few years. You still see a few of the trucks around. This one looks rough but still works every day in Cali.
