I agree with you Ken. Bynx called it a "god awful mess". I suppose it would be up to God to determine that. Sort of demeaning, too, that he called the folks out there "just squatters and snow birds". Doesn't he know that most snow birds are his own kind (Canadians)? :-)

Not demeaning at all Walter. The people inhabiting the area, according to what I looked up about the area are exactly what is defined as squatters and snow birds. And Im quite aware of what a snow bird is. Dump a 100,000 gallons of paint on the ground like this is just glorified graffiti. I suppose its ok with you if each religious nut made his own hill and dumped additional 100,000 gallons of paint to express themselves. Personally I dont agree with this idea and nature should have just been left alone. Its beautiful enough.

I remember going out there to see the mud pots. This was in 1953 when I was stationed at Yuma Air Base. That area was a total S__T hole back then. Now it looks even worse. This is not folk art so much as it is littering.
