Default Ventura CA Red Hour

A short travel to my Father in-laws for the day took us to Oxnard CA. Oxnard borders Ventura to the south. On the way home we stopped at Point Dume to watch the sunset. The golden hour really turned orange from the smoke and the white balance is as close accurate as I could get it. Very odd light and very bad air quality.

With this next image I used a flash with a CTO gel. It turned the orange sky blue.
FF camera, ISO 320, 50mm @ f/9, TTL flash, metering mode center weighted

Nice set Mike. I like #3 with the use of the gel. I use an orange gel on my flash for interior shots where I use the slow sync flash mode with the WB set for tungsten. The beach scene is quite welcome right now where here in KY it is 3F!

Nicely captured set of shots Mike especially the 3rd one which is best among all the three.

This is the time of year I'm happy to be in SoCal.

Thanks Maitri,
CTO gels can be great tools at times.

I heard the sad news today that the coastal highway was being shut down indefinitely after that rock slide a while back.
