I've had a look at some of the other threads but not quite getting what I need....

I've only just started thinking about getting a tripod for my Olympus E-10 hence I've no clue as to what to look out for at the moment. My requirements are...

Tripod that allows the shaft to tilt so its parallel to the ground....i.e to get an overhead shot of a flower.

Tilt and pan head.

And the usuals...cheap (hopefully less than £100)...well made, packs up smallish.

I'd like any suggestions that pop into your head...don't disregard any older models as I may be heading to ebay!

Thanks for any help that gets rid of some of the mist in my mind.:?

Cheers,

Tom

manfrotto 3001pro (light)

manfrotto 3021pro (not so light) i own one of these

these are legs w/o heads. after that you must decide the type of head you want. pan and tilt ir ball type.

your options are limited by two factors

1- i know of only a handfull of manufacturers making this type of tripod. those being gitzo $$$, manfrotto, benbo, and one other quite similar to benbo whos name i can't remember.

2-$$$$
