beginner tripod with arm for straight down shooting

I searched but all the responses were from several years ago and the products recommended are no longer available.
I am looking for a starter tripod with arm to mainly use for straight down, tethered, e-commerce clothing photography as seen here:
http://www.tabletopstudio.com/docume...hotography.htm

I would get the one from that link, but it is non branded so I'm a bit nervous. I would prefer to spend under $200 but would go up to $300 if it was worth it.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Well to answer my own question I ended up going for a Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod with 498rc2 head. The prob tripod center arm will switch from vertical to horizontal so i hope its perfect for what i need.

i have the 055 model with the 496rc2 ball head and was thinking about that as a response to your question. but when the arm is horizontal, it's horizontal. your pic showed an arm that could be tipped up as need be.

as for your choice, realize that the 190 is a bit shorter than the 055 and not as solid. it may be perfectly suitable for your purposes, just wanted to let you know. the ball head is very solid.

oh that's very disappointing. I though it could be angled instead of straight out. I wonder if there is an arm attachment i can get then.

I think this is the one from my first link:

I will double check tomorrow if the arm will tilt. do you need that for spacing or composition? since the head will allow angles and such.

My Manfrotto 055XPROB arm will only do horizontal or vertical. I use it with the 486RC2 ball head. I also have a Velbon Super Mag Slider macro rail for closeup work. http://www.velbon.co.uk/newvelbon/pa...essories2.html

Well I have narrowed it down to the benro flexpod and the vanguard alta. Both do multi angle with the center column.

I don't know anything about those two tripods you mention, but how about using the 055xprob and a ball head as bob mentioned above like this:

I recently purchased the Vanguard 263AT tripod and SBH100 Ball head. Its sold as a combo pack for $200. Its arm can be positioned in almost any angle. The legs also stretch out to 3 positions so the whole thing is almost flat on the ground. The 263AT has 2 leg extensions while the 264AT has 3. But the 263 is a bit taller.
