Hi,
I need a tripod. It has to be real cheap. like under 50 cheap. I will rarely use it, but I don't want COMPLETE garbage that will break minutes after unpacking it. Any suggestions for a low-buck silver billet? |

If for a point-and-shoot mini camera, nearly any will probably do.
If for a DSLR, good luck! How about a monopod? They are light and very portable. Jorgen http://jorgen.photoblog.com |

Use a chain (such as a heavy dog-tag chain) and attach it to a eye-bolt in the tripod mount. Then while holding the camera, step on the chain with your foot and pull upwards against the chain. Works great for me & fit's in my camera bag.

If you go for a monopod, here's how to use it: http://www.outdooreyes.com/photo5.php3

I picked up a Targus model at a discount store for about $25. Light enough to carry easily, and has a center level for the pan head, and another bubble for the tilt. Not extremely sturdy - just aluminum and plastic, but fine to throw in my pickup.
