I just purchased a GIOTTOS MH 1001 pan/ball head. $83. us.
It's OK, but not great. The panning works nice and smooth, but the ball action is rather jerky and somewhat awkward to work with as is the quick release clamp & plate. Overall fit & finish quality is good. My opinion is… it will get me by till I can afford a better one. I wouldn't throw it away but, wouldn't buy another one either. I'd give it ummm… 3 out of 5 stars :| One important thing I've learned over the years. If it says "PRO, Pro series, or Pro quality" anywhere on the box… it probably isn't! just something to keep in mind while shoping. ![]() |

I bought the more substantial MH-3000 and find it to be fine for my use. I found the MH-1001 to be too small and thus making it unwieldy to manage properly.
