Hi guys,
I'm probably looking at getting a Manfroto 190 tripod and head, but am also interested in the Manfrotto monopods. Are the Manfrotto heads interchangeable between tripod and monopod, or would I need to buy one for each? Cheers, Jed. |

You can use the same head on both, but it isn't likely you will want to. There is no need to have the head rotate on a monopod so there is no reason to carry the extra weight. Also, think about whether you will want to shoot portriat orientation off the monopod - if not, you can use a very simple, very cheap head on the monopod.
It is worthwhile if both tri and monopod use the same quick release plate - fewer things to keep track of. |

I have the 190X PRO-B with a MA 804 RC2 head plus the 676B monopod with a MA 234 RC head. They are both excellent.
You could consider a ball head instead on the monopod. Check out Manfrotto's excellent PDF catalogue on their site. Jorgen http://jorgen.photoblog.com |
