Monopod for a 150-500mm lens

Hi!

Iím on the market looking for a monopod for my new Sigma 150-500mm lens. I donít want to break the bank but would like something that would last and feel well built. Yesterday I saw on a store the entry line model from Hama (star 8) and it didnít look solid at allÖ

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi,

I recently picked up a Neopod 7 made by Velbon for use with my E-30 DLSR and Sigma 135-400mm lens. This is a carbon fiber monopod with excellent build quality while making it reasonably light for carrying around all day. It compresses to about 21" and extends to about 65". The camera and lens feels very comfortable and secure with this particular unit.

I bought mine in the USA for $123.00 US

I use a Bogen 679B. Use it with my 1dmkIII and Sigma 120-300 2.8 (lens is 50% heavier than yours) with zero issues. Cost is $47
