- For a P&S
- Collapses small as possible (top priority) - 5-6 foot tall - lightweight - Less than $200 Never owned a tripod before, but would like to take one travelling, use indoors with family, portraits, etc. Was looking through Amazon and my head started spinning, so many options, and I have no idea where to start. Thank you. |

B&H Camera in New York offers a nice selection, including one superlightweight folding Tamrac that's 11 oz, and goes 44 inches high.
I know that's a bit shorter than you'd like, but it's the kind of thing you would easily carry with you. I use a Velbon CX690, and it works very well for me. You'd want something lighter for a P&S; there are a number of lighter ones in that series that might be right for you. I like the way the quick-release head works, and the bubble level on this series is very usable. |

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...tra_Light.html I love it, just what I had in mind. I wonder however how sturdy it is? Too bad no adjustable height though too. That's a problem. The search continues. Last edited by pnut; Jan 3, 2010 at 6:23 PM. |
