Just wondering what tripod people may recommend to use with a D2H set up with a Sigma 50-500 and other large 400mm plus prime's. This is to use mainly for surfing photography.

Thanks all

Depends on your budget, but I'd recommend a Gitzo 1325 CF tripod. It will support just about any lens you may add in the future. It will also stand up better to the elements than aluminum tripods. Whichever way you go, rinsing the salt water away with fresh water will be a must. I might also suggest using some sort of gimbal mount head for larger lenses (Mongoose, Kirk Cobra, Wimberly Sidekick, etc). I have a Mongoose which I love dearly. It handles my 400mm lens like a dream.

Mmm, that looks a nice set up.

Sadly out my league at the mo, any options alot cheaper ( I hate having to say that)
