Tripod question--panning handle on left or right?

I got two Dolica tripods and both are tall enough and handle over 8lbs weight.
However, one has panning handle on the left and another on the right.
I am leaning towards keeping the one with the handle on the left so I can pan with left hand and take picture with right hand.
I think the one with handle on right is made for camcorders so that right hand can pan easily:confused:
It is a personal preference but is there any advantage or disadvantage in using one or the other?
It's for my T2i.
Thanks for comments.

I do not know that it matters, as its probably a personal preference. However, I would suggest getting a wired shutter release, so that when the camera is mounted on the tripod that you will not have to touch the camera (shutter release), thus not introducing any motion when taking the image. Also, you can use the 2 second mirror up (pulls the mirror up) waits while any motion is dampened before taking the image.
