Hi guys,

I'm probably looking at getting a Manfroto 190 tripod and head, but am also interested in the Manfrotto monopods. Are the Manfrotto heads interchangeable between tripod and monopod, or would I need to buy one for each?

Cheers,

Jed.

You can use the same head on both, but it isn't likely you will want to. There is no need to have the head rotate on a monopod so there is no reason to carry the extra weight. Also, think about whether you will want to shoot portriat orientation off the monopod - if not, you can use a very simple, very cheap head on the monopod.

It is worthwhile if both tri and monopod use the same quick release plate - fewer things to keep track of.

I have the 190X PRO-B with a MA 804 RC2 head plus the 676B monopod with a MA 234 RC head. They are both excellent.

You could consider a ball head instead on the monopod.

Check out Manfrotto's excellent PDF catalogue on their site.
