Hey guys,

What are your thoughts on using a ball head (e.g. Kirk) on a monopod? I'm considering the Induro MC24 (carbon).

Thanks.

Don't know about anyone else, but I shoot Horse shows alot,(lots of Panning, long shots, movement etc.) and I dont need one. I can Almost Pan 80 deg. horz. and 6 deg. Vert. both ways. No Worries. Your Mileage may Vary......

Peace

Maybe I'll just pickup my monopod and see how it goes. Seems a bit odd from a cost perspective to spend roughly $130.00 on a monopod but $250.00 plus on a ballhead. Then an additional $100.00 on L-plates. I mean I'm just a hobbyist. But we'll see.

And will I even use the monopod that often? At the moment it doesn't seem so. It's just one of those items that's "good to have around". On the odd occasion you DO.

As long as you are shooting in landscape orientation, you only need (at most) one axis of rotation. Something like this (US$20 at B&H - you can add whatever quickrelease system matches the rest of your gear)
