Default Tripod for Nikon D90

I am looking to get a tripod for the Nikon D90. Any suggestions?

Camera is used on hiking trips, family outings, home, vacations, weddings, pretty much with everything.

Want something not to heavy and that possibly goes to 65-67" and colapses down to fit on the side of a backpack when hiking.

This is all new, so up for all suggestions.

Spend the money on a good quality one, I am using one I got in 1971!

I am in the same boat with the same camera. I have a Velbon with a pan head and currently considering three with a ball head - Manfrotto 7302YB, Benro TRA168 or 169, and Dolica CX620B104.

The Benro looks good with the legs folding over the head to save space when packing.

I agree with spending the money to get a good one. If weight is an issue (i.e., for hiking) get a carbon fiber tripod. After much knashing of teeth, I finally broke down and bought a Gitzo - it's very expensive, but I don't have any trouble doing long shutter speeds or registration issues with HDR. I couldn't be happier.

Benro TRA169 kit which I recently ordered for my Canon T1i. Good value, good reviews - it has not arrived yet.
