Yes, I have extra plate so I can switch them between camera. I do find them handy to have when I really want to travel light. I have a cullmann magnasite tripod, but a full size tripod is not always ideal.

And my gorillapod slrzoom will hold my T1i with the ef 70-300mm without issue, I have wrapped the pod around a solid tree branch and it work great. The key is to wrap it around something solid, not questionable. The gorillapods are my prefer travel tripod. And using the s90 on the slr model is not overkill, it is actually more stable then the compact models.

Nice! Im looking at getting a Gorrila pod, but I don't know which one to get? I have a 550d with 18-55mm lens. Should i get a SLR or SLR Zoom? THe SLR Zoom is much more expensive because i have to get the ball head which is another 20.

Thanks Chris

Get the SLRZoom, the SLR is not hefty enough to handle the 550D. I would see if you can get it with the ball head, if not you can get any brand ball head and attach it.

i use a compact Monfrotto 482 mini-ball head on my slr zoom and it works great. it is also cheaper than the Joby ball head. that is unless you can find a good deal that comes with the ball head.
