i looked over their tripods. i found the design intriguing. the only negative i found is that compaired to a gitzo and the equivelent manfrotto (yes there is a bit of a price difference in the gitzo) the legs have a bit more flex in comparison.

How would you compare the Giottos MT8180 to the Gitzo G2228 Explorer?

i own a 2228. it is built a bit more sturdy then the giottos and the legs when fully extended tend to feel less flexi the the giottos too. but then again there is a little price difference too.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I was also looking at the Gitzo head configuration vs the the Giottos. I could get the aluminum leg version of the 2228 for about the same price as the Giottos. What do you think of that idea?
