I need a tripod I can use in tight spaces. I am working in auditoriums and bleachers are on football fields and gyms, so I am working in places where I do not have a lot of room to move around either. My Canon tripod when set to the height of 45 inches (only using half the leg extensions) has a footprint of 24 inches and that's too big for most places. So I was wondering if you could suggest something that might be better. Obviously I'd like the height to be 45 - 48 inches and the smaller it folds up the better.

Thanks.

Mark

How about using a monopod with some kind of clamp or clamps to secure the monopod to the front edge of one of the seats. With the wide variety of clamps available, it shouldn't be too hard to come up with something that works.

Good Luck,

That's a thought that I had had myself but I could never come up with a clamp that would do the job. Anyone have an idea about a clamp?:?

I have a Stitz clamp , but I didn't see it anywhere anymore , good for light camera, but may be not for heavy SLR:
