3 section leg(2220 and 2227)vs 4 section(2228 )legs extended the 3 section is ever so slightly stiffer. haven't really noticed the difference myself.

again the 2220(aluminum) is only 0.5lbs heavier and 0.5 of the price of a 2227(CF)

at least on most the drones are spacedand tied together.

:G

seems like the 2220 is much better value for money and essentially the same is the only bonus of the CF the weight?

no one on ebay is selling the 2220  so would have to pay UK retail which always is painful but still cheaper than the 2228 but would you pay the extra £75 ($137) for a 2228?

the only real reason i went for the 2228 was for travel. it fits in more bags plain and simple. i did travel a bit and had to go relatively light and compact. im starting up again so it will be used even more often.

hiya - hope u are keeping well...

Thought I'd let u know that after about a month of waiting my gitzo 2220 has arrived!

I like it and can't believe how light it is...and can see its goona be a lot easier to use than the uni loc and more versatile...

Only thing is it doesn't say series 2 on it? - I got it on special order from a big UK photo supplier - so would it be series 1 or 2 or is there no difference as the gitzo site only lists the series 2?

cheers...

I shall do...

As u are a Eos user as well what have u found is the best software to process the images as at the moment I'm using the canon file viewer to extract the images to Tiff 16 bit then import them into photoshop, I used to saturate in PS but found its way too noisy so have started using Fred Miranda's DV Pro 4 to increase saturation similar to Velvia - which works well - whats your workflow?
