I have a heavy Bogen Head 3029 and Bogen Tripod 3010---no leveling capability.

Does any one know if I can fit leveling devices to the head and tripod. I want to use for panaramic photos--Thanks

all manfrotto tripods have the same diameter center post at 28mm. the manfrotto 555B leveling post will fit and work like a charm. cost is ~$100.

do not let is cross section fool you it will work. it is specifically designed to work in a 28mm shaft diameter.

it works on my gitzo g2228 and my manfrotto 055.

it is the red half bowl device below the head. it allows 15 deg of adjustment. sits on a 11"shaft and is controlled (lock/unlock) frm the bottom of said shaft.

sjms: Thanks for your words.---another question?

Do I replace the existing center postand the3-way pan and tilt mechanism (3029)with the 555B Leveling Center colum? Is the 555B easy to level--even on slping ground?

Also, could you advise? How would the 3416 leveling base or the 3502 leveling head work with my 3029 head?

I'm a home photographer with a digital camera and want to take a panoramic shot every once in a while.

just to start off the top picture is the the leveling head with my ballhead on it.

yes it does replace the centerpost.

it is easy to adjust.

you would do a gross level with the legs if it was real steep because the limit is is a total of 15 deg or 7.5 deg of the vertical axisthen the fine level is done with the 555B

the 3614 is like using a transit to level it is much slower to use and is only 10 deg or 5 off axis

the is the same adjustment as the 3614 at 10 and 5 but is faster to use. but now your adding additional weight to the already there seat post at about the same price. just replacingthe post its about the same price. use what ever head you want on it. i prefer the ball type.

you have a 3001 not the 3010 right? i could not find the 3010
