Most camera/video tripod screws are of uniform size. Depending on what you wanted to spend, I would pick up a decent brand of quick release (Bogen, Gitzo, etc).

Thanks for the response. The screw on most Quick releases ree uniform, I have tried several. The problem is to find one that will fit this model tripod.

please put in your country/state of origin. it helps us help you while referencing model numbers and product names which are different in different countries. this is a US based sitebut manyof the memberscome from all parts of the the global village.

pointing you in the right direction is always the aim of this site.

so far every reference to stitz except for 1 is from a country outside of the US.

ok now for the maybe bad news. this is a tripod that has had many names hung on it. you should try to go back to the original place it was purchased from (please don't tell me eBay) and see if they can contact their original vendor to maybe get the plate. as this was not a widely known product and wasen't one of the higher priced ones out there you may need to think of a new one to replace it due to the possible lack of support for it.

Thanks. The place where it was purchased has been sold and the company that bought them has no knowledge of where it came from. Maybe you are right, a new one may be the answer.

suggest companies like manfrotto, slik, velbon. these are companies that can and will support their product in the US and other countries.

I have a quick release from a Stitz Handy-IV HD-4 tripod. The head on it broke and some of the quick release button's for the leg's but the rest of it is good. I had a hard time finding anything for it so I bought a new one. And the quick release that your missing is useless to me.
