I have successfully burned a video created in ProShow Gold on to a Sony DVD+RW, and it plays in the computer and on my TV set. I need to make a copy of it. (Unfortunately, I've moved some of the files so I can't burn a dupe through ProShow Gold.) I made a copy of the DVD on to my hard drive. Then I burned a new DVD ona secondSony DVD-RW. It plays fine in the computer. But when I insert into the TV DVD player I get a message to check the disc. Anyone out there have any ideas about what's wrong?

Hi F2,

I never had much luck using a DVD plus +R disc. I have no problems using a DVD minus -R disc to create TV slide shows and making copys from the original. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that the Pro-Show program does something to the original creation and formats the DVD from plus to minus but when trying to copy the disc it confuses the program and won't copy correctly.

I now use only Sony or Taiyo Yuden minus - R DVD media and I just don't have any more problems with anything at all.

I also found that most all DVD TV players will play Minus -R media but only the latest players will play a Plus +R as well as a minus -R

Go to the photodex web-site and get the telephone # and call customer service. They will try to help you with a problem.

quote "formats the DVD from plus to minus"

it cant do that mate the info is in the read in track and cannot be edited

on thinking about it we need to know if he tried to burn as video or data.........disk needs to be data

way to decide is look at disk via my computer........if it as got just two folders audio_ts and video_ts its gotta be burnt as movie dvd if not it as to be a data disk ...mix it up itll still work on pc but not on a home dvd player

Thanks, Ronnie. I'll give the minus a try. I did call Photodex and they steered me toward using the exact same disk as the original -- but that didn't work. Tony

Thanks for your reply. I use Sonic Digital Media LE V7.

Burned it as Data.

only other thing i can think of is if encryption was added to stop copying, but you would know if u added that

so am out of ideas apart from re edting the show from original either by dropping the ones missing or having a good look about to find themand then re burn off your hard drive
