I just registered and am a click happy fool, lol. Love to take pictures, but I joined here in hopes of help with my z8612 camera (which I love, love, love), but it is having issues. So, without further ado, I shall go and see if anyone has posted anything already that can help. But am looking forward to being a contributing member here.

Welcome to Steve's.

Hopefully, someone can help you figure out what's wrong with your camera. But, from what I can see from your post, it may have a component failure of some type (or a jammed lens mechanism causing it to shut down immediately so that the motor doesn't burn up). Good luck with it.
