I use an older dSLR model (A700) most of the time. But, the camera is not as important as the photographer and knowing a given camera's limitations so you can get the best out of it.
What to do and not to do in photography is a complex topic. We have a knowledge center with articles on various topics that may help out: http://www.steves-digicams.com/knowledge-center/ But, I'd browse through the forums here and look for tips about your specific camera model, too. Then, take lots of photos and when you see one that turns out well, try to figure out why. Ditto for those that don't turn out well. Post an example of one in the forums and ask for tips on what you could have done differently to improve it. Depending on camera, subject type and the conditions you're shooting in, there are many different approaches to getting better results (composition, lighting, camera settings, etc.). |
