Welcome to the forums.

As far as I know, Sanyo does not make a Xacti VPC-HD720P model. They make a Xacti VPC-HD700 that records 720p video. So, you sometimes see listings for this model that show Xacti HD700 720p.

You can see specs for this model here:

thanx jim...

i looked up the site you suggested and you were probably right about the two models being the same camcorder. i see no difference.

but then i saw a new exacti hd1010. "progressive".
two new questions:

1) is there any definitive info somewhere regarding which style doesn't
smear when panning or shooting faster motion... interlaced vs
progressive?

2) i hear that the hd 1000 1920x1080i doesn't really work on mac, but if i'm
only doing the basic in-camera editing then sending it to a hard-drive for
storage, does it matter?

thanx for anyone's input here,

I'd suggest asking about these models in our Hybrid Still/Movie/MP3 Digicams and Sanyo forums, where you'll be more likely to get useful responses from members that have used or researched these cameras.
