Default make a video with a panasonic fz45

hi everyone. my name is also john, but from the uk. i am in my early sixte`s
and not very good with modern camera`s. that`s why i am here, hoping to learn about my new camera. i just hope that i am in the right place for my question, if not please forgive me. my children bought me a panasonis fz45 for xmas, i have tried to make a short film about my grandchildren. i can start the video using the red button on the top of my camera, and use the replay. but for some reason i have NOT got any sound on it.
could any of you help me with this? i don`t know if my camera is broken or not. thank you in advance. john.

Have you tried turning up the volume?

With your camera model, you can use the zoom control to increase or decrease the volume during playback. See page 148 of this user guide for it (the FZ40 guide also applies to the FZ45):

http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPER...MCFZ40-ADV.pdf

You'll also find a menu choice for Volume in it's Setup menus. See page 30 of the same guide.

BTW, Welcome to Steve's

Great. I'm glad you got it sorted out.

Have fun with it and make sure to stop in and share some photos of those grand children when you get a chance. ;-)
