What camera(s) should I evaluate that meet the following criteria:

1. Point and Shoot 2. Four megapixel and above 3. Superior Macro/Micro Mode 4. LCD 2.5 inches or higher 5. Optical Zoom above 4X.

I will be taking photos of jewelry. Thanks for your consideration. Dane 56

Look at the more popular super zooms, like the Sony H2 and H5, and the Canon S3 IS.

If you don't need/want that much zoom, then consider the new Canon A710IS (which should be available soon). On a budget, consider the Panasonic DMC-LZ5.

Also look that the HP 817. 5X zoom, Pentax lens, and can macro really close. I usually don't say I like an HP but its a very nice camera once they put a good lens on it.

you may consider

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"canon A610, A620, A630, A640 all have 1cm closeups and swivel screen that will help you taking macro pictures

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"for more optical zoom look for canon S2 IS, S3 IS. with 0 cm macro mode..
