hi all,
after lotsa reading up on sites & some soul-searching (fixing my priorities & budget) I finally narrowed my search to either Casio Exilim S600 / Nikon Coolpix S5. my requirements include the usual suspects- small size, looks, pic quality, decent low light performance (I'm a reasonable guy who knows limitations of compact camera...hehe) also, I'm not too much of a manual control guy... like it simple... I started off by considering the foll Fuji Finepix Z2 Casio Exilim S600 / Z600 Nikon Coolpix S5 / P4 Panasonic FX9 now that I've come to the final round.. thot I'd seek some help from folks who might have some exp to share... considering my criteria above - which one do you think is better? S600 - smaller, faster (in taking pic) S5 - I'm sold on features like D lighting, dial menu, face priority ![]() also, in my limited 3-4 pic testing of the cameras I thought S5 was better than S600 - though I may be way off here. Any thoughts??? :? Thanks. |

vj-
I am surprised that you have not given serious consideration to the Fuji F-30 or the F-11, or the F-10 that realy shine when it comes to low light level photos. Let's be honest. The Fuji F-30 with a max ISO setting of ISO 3200 has far greater potential for low light level photos than does the Casio S-500 or the S-600 with a max ISO setting of only 400. I saw an interesting comment the other day: "...the Casio S-600 is really what the Casio S-500 was supposed to be..." MT |

I posted a reply to your other post on the subject. Perhaps it belongs here instead:
