Ive been looking at cameras mainly panasonic lumix series so I can take pictures of my models and model railroad progress. Just not sure which camera to buy or even if I should get a panasonic. I don't think i'll take too many pictures and would like a cheap camera under 300 dollars cheaper the better all I really need to be able to do is take decent photos of small scale objects. Checked out the FZ20 but not sure I would fully utilize all its features to justify me spending that kind of money. Im lost and hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

Canon A 610 .. takes excellent close up photos.. And you'll find it at really good prices right now because of the new line releases. You could get great little clips of your trains in action too!
