I can buyeach of them for about 900 dollars, EOS 30D would be new and D2h EX+ second hand.
I am hesitating between the 2. This is a fight between a great 4 megs and above average 8 megs. I would do mostly indoor sportand portrait. I do not care whether I go for Nikon or Canon, as I do not have any lens yet. Is theISO 6400 on the D2H making a great difference for indoor sport ? Which one would you choose ? After 20 years, the price of a porsche 911 just stops loosing value. Is it the same as the4 years old D2H.?I can still see lots of them around. Last question : D2H firing button is "mechanical". Does that mean I can do much more than the classic 100 000 shots ? Thanks Phil |

Tough call.
In its day, the Nikon D2H was one of the fastest dSLRs available, and is still quite fast. And has many features that are still quite rare. The Canon 30D is on par, in most respects, with the D2H, but it's 5 fps, which is quite fast, is still slower than the D2H's 8 fps. I think I'd go with a very good, new, 8 MP dSLR, over an excellent, used, 4 MP dSLR. That is, unless I had a specific application in mind, thatwould benefit more from8 fps than 8 MP. |
