Im posting this for a friend who will use the camera for aquarium photography under metal halide lighting that is 14,000Kelvin, they will also be taking pictures of mushrooms, butterflies and hopefully birds.
(Canon S2 IS, Kodak Z650, Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1) Which one of these would be best and take the best images? I think the Kodak is pretty cool because it has a 2.5 inch lcd and is 6 megapixels. But I am unsure if it has macro. It is also $100 cheaper then the Canon. There is one stipulation he has to buy it at Walmart because he has credit there. Thanks in advance! |

However, might I add that taking photos under such lighting is pretty tricky. The Olympus E series DSLR camera'sWBcan actually be set by the Kelvin number. Other than that it would be very wise to select a digital camera where the WB can be set manually.

I agree. I know the Canon has a manual White balance setting. I am unsure if the panasonic or the Kodak have it. The Olympus is out of their price range and they are not going to be taking photos professional so there is no way they could justify the cost for it I believe. Thanks. |

Why not try looking for a few alternatives.

Well unfortunately he is stucking buying it at a walmart store only so he has to go with what they carry. Those are the only three I could see that suit his needs.
Thanks. |
