5.1 or 6 megapixels?

I'm thinking of getting a Nikon Coolpix but I can't decide between the L2 or the L3. The only apparent difference from the reviews here is in megapixels.

I'm a digital camera novice andI wondered if there was any great difference in image quality between a 5.1 and a 6 megapixels camera?

Can anyone offer any advice?

You won't see a quality difference at all unless you make prints larger than 8 X 10 or crop a lot. 5Mp is plenty for most users.
