I'm thinking about upgrading.

I have a Minolta A2 and I appreciate the Anti Shake feature and 8MP. At 8MP it seems like I can crop the daylights out of my shots with very little loss, and AS allows me to reduce noise by shooting at ISO64.

If I upgrade I'm looking for lower noise and faster action (candid people shots).

The KM 5D or 7D look interesting, but will I miss 8MP? Are the 5D and 7D fast enough to catch candid shots?

I've had the Canon XT recommended to me but I think I'll miss the AS and lack of spot meter.

If I go Canon 20D I keep 8MP, then again I'm in the 7D price range, but the 20D doesn't have AS.

I read it's pretty easy to pixel up with Photoshop. So is 6MP going to be an issue?

Will I get the speed I want from the 5D / 7D?

Thanks,

Bill

The difference between 6mp and 8mp is not all that huge. In fact, image quality should be better with the 5d or 7d because of the larger sensor size. You will also gain more flexibility by being able to use higher ISO's, improving low light and action performance. Also, if speed is your concern, than a DSLR is the only way to go.
