I need a camera to take shots at my daughters indoor soccer matches. I have an Olympus RS100 and I really use the heck out of the 10x zoom, but without bright sunlight it just doesn't cut it.
I want really sharp well focused, plenty of detail photos. Can I accomplish this with a 610 (which is more in my budget) or do I need to step up to something like a G6? I would love one of the super zooms but I am unsure that they would work in an indoor light situation. Any suggestions? Thanks Robert |

Sadly, the only camera you will get consistantly good results with for indoor sports is aa DSLR. With a DSLR you can couple a fast f1.8 prime with 1600 ISO to achieve fast enough shutter speeds to stop action. Most consumer digicams don't have the fast lens--- most are f2.8 or higher and only have ISO's up to 400.
