Which is actually the better camera ? Canon SD550 or Canon S
-
I think their specs are quite similar, and I have no idea what to tell my friend, who likes both (store clerk recommended them) but don't really know much apart from the MP difference.
I mean the Canon SD550 (actually IXUS 750) or the Canon S80 ?
He likes an all round ultra-compact, stylish looking and with excellent image quality.

Anyone ?

Both the Canon S-80 and the SD-550 are excelent cameras. However, they are targeted at different potential users. The S-80 offers a nice wide angle with a shorter zoom finish. However, if you are interested in taking RAW images, that feature was deleted from the S-80.
On the other hand the SD 550 is a highly automated camera targeted at point and shoot users. I know that in the past you have placed a good deal of emphasis on IS. Perhaps the S-70, which does have a RAW format or the SD-700 IS are worth a look.

Thanks for the advice.
My friend isn't as worried about IS as I do, as he has steadier hands.
He did consider the SD700 IS, but is worried about the smaller sensor (1/2.5) and the fact that it has a high cost, as other brands offer 7 or 8 MP for what Canon is offering at 6 MP.
