Will old lenses from a Minolta 35MM film camera work with the 5d?
Yes, as long as they're Autofocus Lenses (all Minolta AF, Maxxum, Dynax, Minolta A Mount lenses will work just fine).

Minolta changed to a new Autofocus lens mount 21 years ago in 1985, beginning with the launch of the Maxxum 7000 (a.k.a., Dynax 7000), the world's first autofocus 35mm SLR.

Older MC/MD mount manual focus lenses will not work without an adapter (and an adapter will have some drawbacks).

As long as your Minolta is a Dynax or Maxxum model (models introduced since 1985), the lenses from it should work fine. If it's older than that (not a Dynax or Maxxum model), they won't work.

Because of the demand for the older high quality Minolta lenses the prices have gone up considerably, but the are still an excelent buy. And many KN 5D/7D owners have found real bargains. The biggest source is E-Bay.
