Default A backward sort of question

I have a Sony A200. I just took my first photo class and
Learned why I should not use the green auto button. Such horizons have been opened to me. I don't have much of an investment in gear as yet. How will my current camera limit me as my skills grow?

IMHO I'd say don't worry about the camera and just enjoy the course.

Your camera may or may not limit you, depending on what you get interested in. Its hard to tell until you decide what you want to do with the camera.

As you come across things that your camera can't do, then try to figure out work arounds (or ask in the forums) for solutions.

Take care,

I second Glen's advice. Worry about what you need, when you need it. Your interests will determine your needs.

Truly amazing photos can be created, when full auto is avoided.

99.99999% of cameras are better than the people using them.

Don't worry about how you're camera is limiting you.

Worry about about how you're limiting your camera.
