Thanks for you opinions.

I will have a look at Pentax also, andnot be too obsessed with finding the "perfect" set-up until I have gained further experience.

Now what you could also do is settle for a D50 instead of the D80 and spend the difference on a Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens.

You`ll have a great lens and maybe later you can always upgrade the body ?

Believe me 6 m/pixels is plenty for top quality A4 format printing....i can show you some examples if you`re not convinced.
