Which of the following dSLRs would be best for someone who is new to SLRs and would be starting in Full Auto mode but will be taking photography courses in the summer.
Nikon D70
Konica Minolta 7D
Pentax *istDS
Olympus E-300

*istDS. Has full "Auto pic" mode + Pic modes + (of course) full manual control. In fact it is so easy to use, that it can be even use as P&S camera! D70 is kinda good as well (and fastest!), but bulky and more expensive. 7D is also more expensive and those IS is not really worth extra money (IMHO only). Olympus always has problem with extra lenses.

You hit the point...nobody can give you the definite answer. You almost forgot canon 350D. Minolta 7D and Canon D20 is the smae class, Nikon D70, Pentax istDs, Canon 300D 350D and Olympus E-300 is another class. You have to make your budget review a lot of articles or wait next ideal DSLR(just like me)...:-)
