My friend JW, who is an advid coin collector is looking for a non dSLR camera that is very capable of showing fine detail on coins, such as embossed portraits, lettering, wear spot, and even the milled edges.
I took a sample photo for him with my Canon S-2 IS, but he really wanted a bit more. I remember that my Nikon 995, which I sold 3 years ago used to do a great job with coins. Perhaps there are some coin collectors out there that have a lot of experience. If so, thanks in advance for your help. MT |

You may want to experiment with different lighting. There are some coin photos on pbase that were taken from an S2, and they didn't have much resemblance to this one. Just a thought.?
