Default Buyer Remors or Valid ?

Taking a Rhine river cruise this spring and do not wish to carry my heavy/bulky DSLR cam and lenses.

So, just ordered a Panasonic DMC-ZS40. Now, after even more reviews read than before I ordered, I am having questions on whether I mage a good choice. Some reviews are stating that this cam has not so good image quality.

So, ought I keep it or return and replace with a better unit, If I return, what are the suggestions for the replacement?

Many thanks,

I would say the Sony RX-100, HX300, and HX90 would all be better choices.

better is relative. some very high quality cameras don't have the zoom i need for some pictures, and sometimes you just need a smaller camera.

what are your priorities for a camera for the cruise?

The size of the Panasonic FZ300 is between a DSLR and a compact. It's water ressistant and has a much faster 24x zoomlens than the ZS40. It's also more versatile.
Perhaps this could be a possibility?
